What Is the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?
The Canadian Dental Care Plan is a new federal program introduced by the Government of Canada to help make dental care more affordable for uninsured Canadians. If you qualify, the plan may cover some or all of the costs for services such as:
- Checkups and exams
- Cleanings and fluoride treatments
- X-rays
- Fillings and extractions
- Dentures, Dental Implants and other dental procedures
Coverage levels vary depending on your family income, but the plan can reduce or eliminate out-of-pocket costs for many patients.
Who Is Eligible for the CDCP?
You may qualify for the CDCP if:
- You do not have private dental insurance
- You have an adjusted family net income of less than $90,000 per year
- You are a Canadian resident
- You have filed your taxes in the previous year
